Iced Coffee anyone? + A Special Guest This Month!
Could there still be some more sunny, warm days left of our Summer? Here’s hoping, and we still get a few more chances to enjoy an iced coffee in our wonderful Scottish sunshine (at least maybe in between the downpours – ever optimistic)!
Optimism and positive attitude as just a couple of the qualities we see in many of the ladies we meet at our events, and there’s always Sunshine and warm ‘GOLD’ at our new format Coffee & Conversation networking. The feedback from our new format is continues to be great – so we’re making more warm, sunshiney GOLD again this month.

We hope you can join us this month as we are delighted to have as our guest, local MSP for Almond Valley, Angela Constance, where in addition to our GOLD networking, she will be sharing her thoughts on supporting women in business and the difficulties faced by women, in terms of representation in start-ups accessing finance. Angela Constance has been the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Almond Valley (formerly Livingston Constituency) since 2007. Born in West Lothian, raised in Addiewell and West Calder, she has her roots well and truly in West Lothian.
Her interest in politics has been with her all her adult life, being elected President of Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council during her time at Glasgow University between 1998-1991. Her interest in social welfare continued after university where she worked for Ark Housing Association, then moving into her career as a social worker in 1998, which continued until she was elected as an MSP in 2007.
Angela has also served as a local Councillor for West Lothian between 1997 and 2007. In 2014 she was promoted to the Scottish Cabinet in the first of three cabinet positions to date, as Cabinet Secretary for Training, Youth and Women’s Employment. Later in November 2014 she held the position as the Cabinet Secretary for Education and in May 2016 she was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities, a post she still holds today.
